Good idea to separately open the tasks window on EN for Web. I don’t have dual monitors, as I prefer using macOS Spaces (e.g., multiple Desktops). However, I use a 32” monitor, which gives me plenty of space, so I could open a separate Safari Window and run it right next to EN on the Desktop that EN defaults to. Thanks for the idea.

I find using virtual desktops instead of multiple monitors, to be a very helpful computer practice. When Windows NT was first launched in the mid-1990s, it had this feature built into the OS. I never understood why M$ then killed it in future releases of the Windows OS. When I finally bit the bullet and switched to using MACs after using an iPhone once it was originally released which brought me into the Apple ecosystem, I discovered that the macOS offers the ability to use multiple virtual desktops, which Apple now calls Spaces. Needless to say, EN occupies the first Space in my setup… 🤓

Window's NT still terrifies me. I get flashbacks to using one of the first touchscreen systems in a radio station. I could tell stories.

Thanks for this week's article. Appreciate your visuals showing the physical 2 monitor desktop and the app screens. The screenshot of your Tasks panel made me realise that you can compress the sections of the Today view (Overdue, Today, Tomorrow, etc) by clicking on the left side. Sometimes you spend too much time looking at the detail that you overlook the wider picture 😄

I like @Philrodo's suggestion of using virtual desktops as an alternative to 2 monitors.

Yes, love the suggestion of virtual desktops. I'm going to implement this on my laptop. The collapsing thing is remembered as well and it helps me focus on what I need to do today and what's happening tomorrow... the next days can wait... I don't want to know😂

Bah! Still getting nothing but the task pull out - even following several sign-outs and an uninstall/reinstall AND an update from Evernote announcing the new Tasks page. Ugh. Trying to get aout of todoist and have one consolidated project tool

In case anyone hasn't seen it, there's a Tweet from Evernote reporting that their subsidiary i Japan is now closed - part of an organizational restructuring" - but "Customers in Japan can continue to use Evernote as before." At least that's what Google Translate tells me.

I'm using the Tasks panel with the "Today" view selected so that I can see all the Tasks on my plate for today. I think the "Notebook" view would be useful when wanting to see what tasks are associated with a particular Notebook, where I have a Notebook for a "Project" and want to see the current Tasks in the project. However, the default Notebook view on the Tasks panel is to show all Notebooks and Tasks listed - you can collapse each notebook so you only see the title; I think it would be good if there was a "collapse all" button in this view so you only need to open the Notebook you're interested in and focus on that. Seeing all Notebooks and Tasks at once means it may take time to find the area you're interested in if you have seceral Notebooks with Tasks ...
